Deanston sits on the River Teith in a former 1785 cotton mill near Doune. The working Highland distillery uses hydro-electric power generated from the river and makes its characteristically waxy, unpeated single malt without chill filtration or added colour. Tours and guided tastings take visitors through the old mill buildings, with a visitor centre, shop and Coffee Bothy cafe on site.
