GlenWyvis Distillery

Dingwall, Ross-shire

Editorial verification pending4.7 (312)

Scotland's only community-owned distillery, powered entirely by renewable energy beneath Ben Wyvis.

GlenWyvis is Scotland's only community-owned whisky distillery and the world's first to be established entirely through crowdfunding. Founded in 2016 and producing spirit from 2017, the distillery sits beneath the slopes of Ben Wyvis on the outskirts of Dingwall in the Northern Highlands. It operates as a Community Benefit Society, meaning the community owns it and the profits serve the community. The distillery runs entirely on renewable energy, using a combination of solar panels, a wind turbine, and a biomass boiler, making it one of the most environmentally progressive distilleries in Scotland. GlenWyvis produces both single malt Scotch whisky and gin under the GoodWill brand. The distillery is a near neighbour to Dalmore and Glenmorangie, and sits in the shadow of Ben Wyvis, the mountain that gives the distillery its name. Tours and tastings are available by appointment.
